Downtown Protected Bike Lane Pilot Ribbon Cutting

The Anchorage Protected Bike Lane (PBL) Pilot Study is rolling out Phase 2 in downtown with a temporary installation on 6th Avenue and A Street from the end of May - September.

The PBL Pilot Study aims to learn how protected bike lanes can be implemented to improve safe, reliable, and equitable access for all transportation users—including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and drivers. The PBL team will be collecting survey data throughout the project duration and feedback will guide future bicycle facility improvements in Anchorage.

On May 30th, we'll welcome the PBL with a Ribbon Cutting party at 5pm in Town Square Park at the PAC Plaza, on W. 6th Avenue and F Street.

Bring your friends and family to help celebrate this huge first for downtown! Bike Anchorage will provide valet bike parking for the ribbon cutting and the Live After Five concert (music starts at 5:30pm).
