Bike Tour: Cold War & Cooperation  

5 p.m. gather, 5:30 Tour Start 

Thursday, Aug. 14 Meet at Kincaid Chalet

Strap on a helmet and set off on a bike tour exploring Alaska’s place in the security of the Arctic. Starting at the Kincaid Chalet, the route will wind in and around Kincaid Park exploring how geography has shaped conflict, innovation and cooperative partnerships between allies. Led by Museum staff and Kristi Swain, military historian with the Ted Stevens Center, this tour will consider moments of both conflict and diplomacy to add to a history that has shaped our city. 

Free. Tour begins at the Kincaid Park Chalet and covers about ten miles; may not be suitable for all riders. Meet at 5 p.m., ride begins at 5:30 p.m. rain or shine. Bikes not provided. In partnership with Bike Anchorage.
