Bike Anchorage invites you to the second Neighborhood Greenway ride Sunday, Aug 10th! Riders will gather around 9:30am at the Fairview Community Recreation Center to explore the east side routes of Anchorage’s new Neighborhood Greenways program, a growing network of prioritized low-stress on-street biking and walking routes.
This 14-mile, easy-paced ride will take us through 7 of the newly treated routes in East Anchorage, with stops along the way to learn about each corridor and how they support safer, more comfortable travel for people of all ages and abilities. We’ll cover Routes in Fairview, Rogers Park, Airport Heights, Russian Jack, and Northeast Anchorage. Check out the project webpage for more information on the Anchorage Neighborhood Greenways program.
We’ll be joined by the Municipality of Anchorage project team, who will share insights and future plans on the development of the Greenways. They are also interested in hearing from you, and will be collecting feedback, comments, and answer any questions.
The ride will start at 10:00am and take about 2 hours. The tour will end on Patterson St around noon. From there, folks will have an option to group ride the 5 extra miles… or, we’ll have complimentary bus passes and will be helping folks load their bikes onto People Mover’s Route 30 to be whisked in style back to Fairview.
Bring your bike, your voice, and your ideas! We look forward to riding and planning with you.
