SheJumps Bike Maintenance Workshop

This class will focus on preventative maintenance to ensure your mountain bike is ready for the trails. Most mechanical issues can be prevented by keeping up with basic bike maintenance and knowing when to take your bike into the shop. Space will be tight, so please leave your bike at home.

She will highlight maintenance that can be done at home, pre-ride checks, annual bike services, and touch on a few repairs, followed by a Q&A.

Christina Grande hails from San Francisco and moved to Alaska in 2006. Grande has been working in the bike industry since 2010 at local bike shops in Anchorage and has been a certified bike fitter since 2013. Grande loves to commute by bike whenever she can, as well riding longer distances. She's completed the Fireweed 400 solo, Susitna 100 a few times, White Mountains 100, Unbound Gravel, Soggy Bottom 100, Kenai 250 twice and a bunch of random long distance rides. She received a BA in Broadcast Journalism from San Francisco State University (oh yea she was a reporter for 4 years in Alaska. That’s why she moved to AK), is a certified Wilderness First Responder, Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBI) and certified United Bicycle Institute bike mechanic. She received her League Cycling Instructor Certification through the League of American Bicyclists in 2020. Grande is also a board member of the local trail crew called Singletrack Advocates, a member of the Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) Leadership team and she has helped with The American Lung Association’s Clean Air Challenge ride since 2010.
