This year was the second ANC Active Challenge, where we encouraged people to commit to walking, biking, and taking transit from mid-May through September and track their trips on the LinkAK system.
The results are in: You all did amazing! 436 people participated in the challenge and logged over 14,500 trips for a total of over 73,000 miles of biking, walking, and bus riding.
Bike Anchorage hosted the second annual Golden Sprockets to award the challenge winners their medals and recognize all those that participated. The celebration took place on October 3rd at 49th State Brewery with plenty of pizza and beer, and The SpeNerds kept us moving and grooving for the evening.
Group winners were broken down by small, medium, and large organizations and the top three individuals received awards as well.

We appreciate the work of everyone who participated in the challenge, and are blown away by the cumulative impact of all those individual trips. Let us know if you have any feedback about the Active ANC Challenge, and we are looking forward to hosting another cycling challenge in February as part of Winter Bike Fest!
