Urban Agricul-Tour Community Ride
- This route will showcase surprising examples of backyard agriculture in our urban town. While all of these gardens are past their youthful beauty, they are in their productive prime. Highlights are a small-production farm, a self-pay market stand, and thornless raspberries, fruit trees, grapes, asparagus, and corn.
- Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Airport Heights Fire Island Bakery (2530 E 16th Ave). Jason will provide some nibbles and a tour of the on-site Urban Farm LLC. We will ride at 6:00 p.m., about 11 miles total distance, taking new-to-some shortcut routes. We'll visit four gardens in the Airport Heights, Turnagain, Second Addition, and Fairview neighborhoods. The final stop will be at 1236 Nelchina Street, 1.2 miles from the start.
