What if we could reimagine Anchorage's streets?
Pop-Up projects, a.k.a temporary demonstrations, are a great way to do this. Think a different design would improve safety and comfort? Let's try it! First up, a temporary roundabout at Denali St. and 40th Ave - brought to you by AMATS and Bike Anchorage.
Currently, pedestrians and cyclists crossing Denali at 40th are met with speeding traffic, infrequent yielding, and dangerous conditions. Mini-roundabouts are a proven way to improve safety for everyone by reducing speeds and crossing distances.
Join us for the unveiling of the temporary roundabout and grab a snack from a Slice of Heaven food truck, play some lawn games, and learn about making our streets safer for everyone!
