Join the Treat Station Team

Treat stations are the lifeblood of events like Bike to Work Day. Everyone knows there is nothing better than building community with free food! This year, we are expanding our footprint to make sure even more cyclists get to experience the magic of Bike to Work Day.

We will have treat stations set up at Eastchester/Woodside Park and Lion's Community Park in Mountain View from 6-9am on Friday, May 17th. Want to help us fuel commutes and get folks on their bikes? Send an email to [email protected]!

Help us Count Cyclists!

We need your help counting cyclists on Bike to Work Day - Friday, May 17th!

Every year since 2007, this data has been critical to securing funding for projects that have made our city a better place to bike and walk. This year, we need your help to make sure these counts continue. Without intrepid volunteers like you, 12 years of meaningful data on cyclist traffic is at risk.

We have two time slots available (6:30 - 7:45 am & 7:45 - 9am) at a number of counting locations across town. If you are available for any of the yellow slots below, please send an email to [email protected].

Volunteers receive the 2019 Bike to Work Day t-shirt as a thank you!

Experiencing the Winter Cycling Congress

I am going to be honest with you all here, I never heard of the Winter Cycling Congress before the Bike Anchorage board offered me the opportunity to attend the international conference. Further, I never, ever, considered visiting Calgary, a large city in central Canada that, for outdoor enthusiasts like myself, is shadowed by its scenic mountainous neighbor, Banff. When I described my upcoming trip to my father, he simply remarked, “Calgary, huh, cattle country!” He isn’t wrong, Calgary is home to its namesake Stampede, one of the largest rodeo festivals in the world. But, despite their bucolic roots, Calgary is also an ambitious modern northern city with big plans to advance its transportation infrastructure, and they were keen on sharing those advancements with the rest of the world.
