We will meet on the east side parking lot of Change Point Church on Raspberry Road at 10:30am on the morning of August 10, and a bus will be provided to transport everybody out to Mirror Lake.  The bus will leave the parking lot at 11am sharp.  Carlile will be providing transportation for your bikes from the church out to Mirror Lake.  The ride is approximately 32 miles from Mirror Lake back to Change Point Church with almost all of it being on designated bike paths.  There will be a lunch provided at Mirror Lake for all those participating in the ride and we will have a rest stop on the ride at about the half way point.  YOU MUST HAVE A HELMET TO PARTICIPATE.

I encourage you to take a look at the maps and familiarize yourself with them so you can help lead some of the T4K group to the finish line.
Please let me know if you plan on participating so we can plan on how many lunches to provide.  You can either email me at [email protected] or text me at (907)748-3671.   My name is Keith Foerster.

Over 2,800 people braved the rainy weather and biked to over 60 tasty treat stations run by amazing local organizations. If we didn't see you at the Bacon Station, there are still plenty of other opportunities coming up this Summer to celebrate biking!

If you did make it out to Bike to Work Day, hopefully with bacon in hand, please fill out this survey. It will help us make sure Bike to Work Day 2019 is a sizzling, crispy success!

What even is this? It's a Bike High Five of course! These little cards are going viral in Anchorage. Want to encourage fellow riders with some awesome facts and resources about biking? Print off one of these little guys and hang it on a bike. Psst, Pass it on!

High Five

What's a bike high five? It originated out of an idea to encourage people who bike. Did you get a high-five and/or just want to join in on the fun?!

Download and print this tag!

Then hang it on a friend 's or a stranger's bike to encourage people to keep riding!

Everyone loves a high five!

We Need Your Help!

Spring is the perfect time to "break-up" with your car (see what we did there?) and join us in making Anchorage bike-friendly!

We need your help with a ton of great stuff coming up. Bike to Work Day is just around the corner (May 18th!) and the bacon station is calling your name. Community rides need leaders and commuter challenges need champions. Oh yeah, and it's just fun to hang out with people who love bikes.

Here's a few things we could really use your help with. Anything sound interesting? Let us know what you'd like to take on!

Bike to Work Day Counters

Every Bike to Work Day, the municipality collects data on how many folks ride and where they go. Collecting this data plays a significant role in applying/receiving grants for bicycle safety improvements within the Municipality of Anchorage. You'll be assigned a location and will cheer on (and count!) your fellow riders. Please email [email protected] if you'd like to help out!

Clean Air Challenge Sweepers

The Clean Air Challenge is happening on May 12th in Talkeetna. Want to participate for free and get room and dinner?! They are in need of ride sweepers - sweepers hang back, ensuring no stragglers get left behind. It's a 100 mile ride for a great cause. Volunteers get a room and dinner Saturday night at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge (and food stations during the ride). Please email [email protected] if you'd like to participate! More info on the ride here

Community Ride Champions

Have an idea for a great community ride and want help organizing it? Let us know! We just wrapped up the Tour De Habitat and had a blast. We toured Habitat for Humanity projects and enjoyed a sunny day on the trails. Other great rides have included a garden tour, architecture tour, and many more. We'll help you get your idea off the ground! Email [email protected].

LinkAK.org

We need your help getting the word out about LinkAK.org! This is Anchorage's one stop shop for local challenges. Register and create a profile, then start logging your bike trips. You'll be automatically entered to win prizes from Alaska Railroad, Downtown Bicycle, REI, and the Trek Store of Anchorage! Didn't see your team or workplace when registering? Email Dana Mendoza ([email protected]) with your team details to join.

Bike Maintenance

Want to perform some basic bike maintenance for a great cause? Birchwood Behavioral Health has eight youth bikes in need of a quick tune up. Please email [email protected].

Encouragement Committee

Want to guide our long-term efforts to get more people on bikes? Then join our encouragement committee! We meet every other month and scheme up great events and rides. Email [email protected] if you'd like to join!
